The Watercats wrote the writing prompt for The Poetry Bus this week. The prompt set forth these rules:
Protest in a four line poem with a rhyme scheme and rhythm as follows:
dum dum dum dum dum dee dumClick here for the original prompt and to read the other responses!
dum de dum de dum dee dum
dum de dum de dum dee dee
dum de dum de dum dee dee
Here is my attempt to conform to the difficult rhythm/rhyme scheme The Watercats came up with:
Silly meter such as thisIn all seriousness, it was so challenging to write anything for my first prompt and I probably shouldn't even have attempted it. Next time I'll stay away. Thanks to The Watercats for being so gracious.
Hardly does the art justice.
Seven syllables per line?
Better writing prompts next time.
I will be posting some of my better, unprompted poetry in the near future.

LOL... can't recall anyone ever saying that poetry was easy ;-)
great job!
Thank you. Poetry is most certainly difficult but those seven syllabled lines were hard.
Intriguing take on the prompt, Nicholas. Love the way you looked at it in an oblique way. Welcome aboard!
I wasn't able to get the seven syllable format, nonetheless I did have a protest I needed to make. You aced it!
Thanks, Peter! I like it here already.
Helen, yours is far better than mine for you protested about something worthwhile and mine is more or less a nonsense rhyme.
Good job! can't always wing a poem into being
but it is fun trying.
Laughed and laughed...
I think I might have failed where you succeeded!
